It has not always been easy for me to accept my journey or the diversity that I represent. As a kid, I did not quite understand the strength or power that we can draw from our stories. It was due to the broad range of variables that, in my mind, differentiated me from others around me. For instance; being a female with an ethnic background, growing up on a community farm with people of special needs, and also coming from a single mom household. It has been a long journey for me to find strength in my journey and my story. It did not come without challenges or hardships.
Enable individuals to find strength in their stories and who they represent
Ever since I have been able to be proud of my story, I have been on the right path. I believe that for us to be successful in creating diverse communities, we must increase the diversity know-how. Enable individuals to find strength in their stories and who they represent. Create a progressive workplace culture that enables and empowers individuals to tell their stories. We need to be able to facilitate inclusive innovation and transformation because the world is changing and getting more diverse, and we cannot stop it.
